The Sasquatch Festival Rocked!!!

First and foremost on my list was Sufjan Stevens. He didn't disappoint and I learned a few new things about him (he's trying to put out an album for each state....so far he's accomplished Michigan and Illinois). I was also really looking forward to Ben Harper and he was absolutely incredible....words can't describe the experience. Bedouin Soundclash had an unmistakable, incredible rhythm and tone that was well worth the trip. And to round it out, The Flaming Lips had great visual effects with audience participation. Gomez was a new surprise to me. I really liked 'em. I'll have to see if I can download some of their music on iTunes.

What an awesome landscape behind the stage:

The weather was a bit, umm......interesting. First it rained on the way there,

then once we got there the rain clouds were magically passing around the concert (but you could look out over the horizon and see rain dropping from dark, dark clouds), then we finally got the weather in biblical proportions...It rained and then hail came in the size of gumballs (this picture really doesn't do justice).

After that, the sun came out again and everyone went back to their campsite (another half hour walk one way) to get changed and the concert was delayed for about an hour.

I had so much fun with Keegan. We both endured mud (akin to Woodstock...or so I'm told...a man there said he was at Woodstock), hail, sunburns, Keegan had to put up with my snoring (what a woman!) as well as our neighboring campers (apparently I'm a big brown bear), and I got a speeding ticket on the way home.

I was waiting for the locusts to set in but wouldn't have traded it for anything in the world. The whole weekend was amazing!

Our Grandma was so awesome! She went to the grocery store and bought food for our whole weekend! (including some taffy that was a big hit for all those sitting around us...we could have made some serious bucks but we were nice and payed it forward.....karma, karma, karma) When we got back, she was busy making dinner for us while we slept it all off.
